Alpha Release

Hey fellas

Since our last playtest, we've been working to squash bugs, tighten up systems, and add some quality of life stuff based on your feedback.
Here's what's new in Cops&Robbers v0.1.0:

Gameplay

  • Players can no longer be killed with respawn shields active
  • Dying mid-heist? No full paycheck if someone else finishes the job and you didn't re-enter the heist
  • Respawn is now slightly delayed so you can get those last words in before going down
  • You now run faster when you're not holding a weapon
  • Hard heist is fixed and ready to ruin your day
  • Suicide button added (press K), no more getting stuck forever in weird spots

Vehicles

  • Default cop car is now 4 seats (as it should've been)
  • Gallo no longer flips over at the slightest breeze
  • Vehicle bouncing has been fixed
  • Car lights added, cop lights improved
  • Multiple siren varieties so you're not hearing the same loop 500 times
  • Passengers can now shoot from car windows
  • Feet sticking out of vehicles — still being worked on, new task opened

UI & Feedback

  • You can now see who's talking
  • Civilians show white names, gangsters show orange
  • Cop task completion popup now shows money earned
  • New popups for money received, challenge completions, and more player feedback
  • Small permanent display showing available heists (for criminals) and ongoing heists (for cops), medium and large heists only
  • Minimap is now just round instead of both round and square, not some cursed in-between
  • Chat history is now permanent and scrollable
  • Discord chat integration added

Audio

  • Voice chat volume bumped up
  • Footsteps rebalanced, enemy footsteps are now louder than your own/teammates'

Other Bug Fixes

  • Push-to-talk lag spike fixed
  • Sniper scope bugs fixed
  • Car shooting bugs fixed
  • Particle effects cleaned up
  • Minimap fixes
  • Fence collision fixes
  • Various UI bug fixes
